2021 Honda Ridgeline Looks Tougher

The Ridgeline's new Honda Performance Development package includes a unique grille, bronze wheels, and HPD graphics.

  • The 2021 Honda Ridgeline pickup is getting a new look along with an available rugged Honda Performance Development (HPD) appearance package.
  • The changes include a new front end, 18-inch wheels, dual exhaust tips, and more.
  • They'll arrive in the U.S. early next year starting at just over $35,000.

Honda is giving the Ridgeline pickup a refreshed look for the 2021 model year, which includes changes to the front end, a new skid plate, a set of standard 18-inch wheels, and a tougher rear end with dual exhaust tips. A new Honda Performance Development (HPD) appearance package is also available on the new trucks, which will arrive in the U.S. next year.

The top half of the Ridgeline's new face looks almost unchanged, however it gets a more squared-off top end with a redesigned crossbar atop the grille, either gloss black or chrome depending on trim, that connects the headlights. Down below, the front bumper receives the majority of the changes, adding side vents that help move air around the front wheels. All 2021 Ridgelines get 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-season tires.

There's also a new Honda Performance Development appearance package (pictured above) available on the new trucks, and it sort of reminds us of Toyota's TRD Pro models, but not as legit. The package, which is available on every trim, adds a unique, more aggressive-looking blacked out grille, black fender flares, bronze wheels, and HPD graphics on the bed walls. The only thing it's missing are some Fox shocks.

All 2021 Ridgelines are powered by a 280-hp 3.5-liter V-6 paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The RTL-E and Black Edition models come standard with all-wheel drive, while it's available on the base Sport and RTL models. We'd recommend opting up for the all-wheel-drive system, since it allows for an up to 5000-pound towing capacity.

The new trucks also receive an updated display audio system with new graphics and a physical volume knob. All trims get new contrast stitching, while the Sport, RTL, and RTL-E models get new dash, steering wheel, and center console accents. Honda Sensing, which includes forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane departure, and adaptive cruise control, comes standard on the 2021 Ridgeline.

The 2021 Honda Ridgeline pickup will arrive in the U.S. early next year starting at just over $35,000.
