- BMW is adding an Edition M Mesh appearance package on the 2021 X2 compact crossover.
- It includes features from the available M Sport X package, M sport seats, and two unique sets of wheels with either all-season or summer tires.
- The Edition M Mesh package starts at $37,595 for the sDrive28i and and $39,595 for the all-wheel-drive xDrive28i.
BMW is really into its grilles, and it's giving the X2 compact crossover an appearance package just to accentuate its grille even more—it gets other sporty touches, too. The Edition M Mesh package is available on both the X2 sDrive28i and xDrive28i models and will be available starting in November.
The Edition M Mesh package includes features from the X2's available M Sport X package including the M Sport Exterior package and shadowline exterior trims. On the Edition M Mesh, the X2's grille is equipped with 3D mesh inserts and the trunklid badge and exhaust tips are finished in gloss black. Unfortunately, the U.S.-bound cars won't be available with the black and orange decals (pictured above). Inside, black M sport seats are equipped along with unique door sills, pearl gray chrome accents, and an M sport steering wheel with paddle shifters.
A set of 19-inch wheels with either black or orange highlights come standard on the special-edition cars, and a set of 20-inch M aerodynamic wheels are optional. Both wheels are available with either all-season or performance summer tires. For X2s equipped with the all-season tires the top speed is limited to 130 mph, while the top speed with the summer tires can reach up to 144 mph on the sDrive28i and 143 mph on the xDrive28i.
The X2 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The sDrive28i model is the front-wheel-drive model, while the xDrive28i is the $2000-more all-wheel-drive version.
The 2021 X2 sDrive28i and xDrive28i Edition M Mesh will be available to order in November starting at $37,595 and $39,595.
